About the Marine Discovery Centre

Nestled among the grasses and low coastal shrubs of Swan Bay, an internationally significant wetland and part of Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park, is a small but inspiring leader in marine education.

The Marine Discovery Centre provides amazing environmental education experiences for over 60,000 visitors each year and is the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon immersed in the exhibits, or a day exploring the beautiful marine environments that surround the Centre, guided by captivating staff and volunteers.

Schools visit from all over Victoria, from interstate and there are even several regular international bookings made each year!  In school holidays, family fun kicks in, with activities for all ages:  from canoeing to craft, beachcombing to boat trips - adding to the gorgeous seaside feeling for which the Queenscliff-Point Lonsdale area is known and loved.
